David Price has joined Bennett Jones as a partner in the Employment Services practice. He will serve clients from the firm’s Calgary and Vancouver offices. His practice focuses on employment, labour relations, human rights and privacy law.
David represents union and non-union employers on labour and employment standards compliance, employment agreements, workplace policies, discipline and grievances, termination practices and procedures, restrictive covenants, human rights matters, collective bargaining, and litigation arising from employee terminations.
He also provides strategic advice to clients on employment and labour matters in major M&A deals, going private transactions, restructurings and insolvencies. David has deep experience with departing employee and executive litigation, including obtaining injunctive relief on behalf of employers to restrain breaches of post-employment legal obligations.
David has appeared before the highest levels of courts in Alberta and British Columbia, the Labour Relations Boards in both provinces, the Alberta Human Rights Commission and the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal. He has also appeared before private labour arbitrators and an international arbitral tribunal under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce.
Active in his community and in the legal profession, David is a member of the Board of Governors of the University of Calgary, the Law Society of Alberta, the Law Society of British Columbia, the Canadian and Calgary Bar Associations, and the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers.
He is ranked as one-to-watch in both Chambers Canada 2025 and Best Lawyers in Canada 2025 in employment and labour.
