Mia Bacic provides thoughtful and pragmatic advice and works closely with clients to deliver creative and efficient solutions for a wide range of corporate securities, M&A, and private equity matters. She is described by clients as being "an exceptionally good lawyer, always gives sound legal advice and provides incredible service".

Mia has over 20 years of experience advising on a broad range of corporate and securities transactional and compliance matters, focusing on private and public M&A transactional work, including financings, restructurings and recapitalizations. She also advises on corporate governance and risk management issues, stock exchange listings, and securities regulatory and registration and compliance matters.

She has particular expertise in and regularly advises both fund sponsors and investors on a wide range of alternative fund investments and fund formations in Canada and internationally. She regularly represents some of the largest pension fund managers in Canada, municipal governments, corporate and government pension funds and other strategic investors, university foundations, funds of funds and sophisticated Canadian and foreign family offices. In addition, Mia has a broad experience in providing advice to institutional investors and managers with negotiation of complex investment management and asset management agreements, and related supporting agreements.

Mia advises clients across diverse industries (including, biotech and life sciences, renewable power and energy, technology and mining), and various asset classes (including private equity, infrastructure, private debt and real estate).

Mia has been ranked among Canada's top lawyers in Chambers Canada in the area of Corporate Commercial Law and in the Best Lawyers in the area of Corporate Law. In 2017, Mia was awarded the Lexpert Zenith Award, which celebrates women in law.

Mia has lectured for the Law Society of British Columbia Professional Legal Training Course and for the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia on corporate law matters. She speaks regularly at legal education conferences, and publishes articles on relevant legal issues.
