Paul has an undergraduate degree in Mining Engineering. He has previous experience working for a mountainous metallurgical coal mine in its short-term mine planning department and for several energy companies in their short to mid-range planning teams.
Paul is well-versed in advocating for his clients in complex contractual disputes, including in the energy, transportation, chemicals and commercial real-estate sectors as well as advising on shareholder, partnership and intellectual property disputes.
Paul has represented clients in numerous domestic and international arbitrations. Most recently, Paul assisted in successfully defending a contractual audit and fraud claim exceeding CAD$100 million and advancing a counterclaim exceeding CAD $50 million for a confidential client in an international arbitration.
Prior to joining Bennett Jones, Paul clerked at the Alberta Court of Appeal.
