Doug Fenton has a broad litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution practice, focused on corporate and commercial disputes, securities litigation, bankruptcy and insolvency matters, fraud, defamation, constitutional litigation and class actions. Doug also has experience in professional regulatory proceedings and in conducting internal investigations. 

Doug has extensive experience before all levels of Court in Ontario, including before the Commercial List and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. He has also acted as counsel in matters before the courts in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Yukon, as well matters before the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal and various regulatory bodies. Doug has acted in cross-border disputes involving jurisdictions such as the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe. 

A large portion of Doug's practice involves appellate matters. He has acted on a broad range of appeals involving issues of corporate and commercial law, constitutional law, and bankruptcy and insolvency. His writing has been published in the Canadian Business Law Journal and cited by the Supreme Court of Canada.

Doug rejoined Bennett Jones after clerking at the Court of Appeal for Ontario, where he worked for Associate Chief Justice Hoy, Justice Nordheimer and Justice Harvison Young. Prior to his clerkship, Doug summered and articled at the firm.
