Tracey Doyle practices intellectual property litigation and has significant experience litigating complex multi-party patent matters. She regularly litigates matters under Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations and advises clients on various regulatory matters. Tracey has extensive trial experience and works on a cross-section of patent disputes relating to pharmaceutical products, oil and gas operations, mining, mechanical products and telecommunication technology. Tracey also advises on class action matters and has represented clients in the Ontario and Federal Courts. 

Before becoming a lawyer Tracey enjoyed an extensive academic career, with achievements that included completing her B.Sc. in Honours Health Science, her M.Sc in Immunology and Infection and her Ph.D in Immunology and Microbiology. During her Ph.D work, Tracey helped develop a platform for a universal vaccine against the influenza virus. This research was completed during the height of the H1N1 pandemic and required Tracey to have an expertise in techniques related to generating and evaluating monoclonal antibodies. Tracey regularly uses her scientific background in matters related to the pharmaceutical industry.  

While in law school, Tracey was a research assistant for several professors, a teaching assistant for property law and an avid moot competitor. She won the first year law school moot, was a semi-finalist at the Harold G. Fox Intellectual Property Moot and won the Oxford International Intellectual Property Moot. Tracey received the award for best-over-all oral advocate out of the entire common law class at the University of Ottawa. Tracey was appointed an adjunct professor at the University of Ottawa law school and taught the intellectual property oral advocacy class. She currently coaches the intellectual property moot teams of a distinguished Canadian law school.

Tracey was called to the bar in 2017. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, and the Advocates’ Society.
