In the community, Sharon is a member of the Wet'suwet'en Community Advisory Council member, advisory Greater Vancouver board member of the Salvation Army (British Columbia Division), member of the YWCA City Shift Strategic Advisory Council and on the board of directors for Immigrant Employment Council of B.C., the British Columbia Energy Regulator and CKNW Kids Fund. She is a senior policy advisor to the Mining Association of British Columbia, and a contributing member in several environmental, public policy and Indigenous relations committees of the Business Council of British Columbia, Mining Association of Canada and Association for Mineral Exploration.
