David Wainer has a general corporate commercial practice, with a particular emphasis on intellectual property and technology, privacy, and emissions trading. Through his intellectual property practice, David has experience working on a broad range of matters, including IP-related transactions, privacy, information technology procurement, cybersecurity, licensing, and branding.
In addition, David advises clients in respect of climate change and emissions legislation and helps project proponents and large emitters with the marketing and sale of emissions offsets, emissions performance credits, compliance credits, renewable energy certificates, and other emissions trading credits and instruments. David regularly assists on a variety of energy diversification/decarbonization projects, such as carbon capture and sequestration, hydrogen, and solar and wind projects.
Prior to law school, David worked as an operations manager at a national renewable energy industry association, assisting with policy advocacy and input with related legislation.
